Redirect pages are pages that automatically redirect to another article, without showing a page by itself.

Redirect pages are used mainly to make searching easier. It also prevents writing two pages with two different titles about the same thing (for example, Ferryman's song and The Ferryman's Song).

Note that redirect pages hardly clog the server, and are not counted in the number of articles. Therefore, don't hesitate to create a redirect page whenever you feel the need for it.

How to create a redirect page

Creating a redirect page is very easy; all you need to do is start the article you wish to redirect from, and enter the following line of text in it:

#Redirect[[Article to redirect to]]

For example, if you wish to redirect from Clover leaves to Clover leaf, enter the following line in the Clover leaves article:

#Redirect[[Clover leaf]]

Save the page, and your redirect page is ready. You can now try searching for the redirect page you created, and see how it links to the other article.

Common uses of redirect pages

Abbreviations- Redirecting from an abbreviated form of a term to the full name. For example, from LBA to Little Big Adventure.

Common spelling errors- if a word or name is commonly misspelled, a redirect page can be made to link to the article with the correct spelling. For example, Keraooc redirects to Ker'aooc.

Other spellings- Sometimes, a word has more than one common spelling. In that case, a redirect page should be used to link from one spelling to another. Preferably choose the "official" name, as appears in the games. For example, FunFrock's Sabre redirects to FunFrock's Saber.

Other punctuation- A lot of articles use some punctuation characters, especially dashes. To make searching easier, a redirect page should be created from the article without the punctuation characters to the one with the proper title. For example, Super Jetpack redirects to Super Jet-pack.

Capitalization- Almost all articles in the Twinsuniverse have redirects to them from articles with different capitalization. This ensures that if a word is capitalized (or alternatively not) in one article, the link won't appear "red" (i.e. to a non-existent article). For example, Elevator to the undergas redirects to Elevator to the Undergas.

Alternative names- If a place, an object or a character has an alternative name, then a redirect page is made from the alternative name to the official name. For example, Weather Wizard redirects to Bersimon.

Accents- Although more rare in the LBA world, some words use accented characters, and a redirect page is made from the non-accented title to the official title. For example, Temple of Bu redirects to Temple of Bù.

Plurals- Preferably, always title articles in singular (whereas category titles in plural). To make finding them easier, redirects can also be made from pages with the plural form of the word. For example, Darts leads to Dart.

Accessing a redirect page

If, for any reason, you want to enter and/or edit a redirect page, it's easy. All you need to do is type the title of the redirect page in the search box, and click Go. After you've been redirected to an article, you will see just underneath the title, the line "(Redirected from some redirect page)". This link will lead to the redirect page directly, clicking it will not cause a redirect.
