Help:Links
This article is a stub [list all]. You can help the Twinsuniverse by expanding it. |
The MediaWiki engine enables creating links inside the articles to either other articles, or to external sites. Linking is easy and very convenient, much more than with HTML.

Internal links
Basic links
Internal links are links to other articles in the Twinsunica. To add a link to another article, simply put "" before the text, and "" after it.
For example, Twinsen will result in Twinsen.
The "pipe trick"
And no, we don't mean the classic MBN joke... If you want to create a link to an article whose title does not appear directly in the article, you can do so with a method called, according to Wikipedia, the Pipe trick. To use this method, all you have to do is separate the title from the text, using the | character.
For example, "Twinsen is the hero of the planet", will result in "Twinsen is the hero of the planet".
To make it short, remember the following order: Text to appear in article.
Linking to a specific section
Linking to a specific section is done using the # sign, separating the article title from the section title.
For example, "School of Magic#Role in Twinsen's adventure" results in "School of Magic#Role in Twinsen's adventure".
You can use the | sign in this case as well. For example, The role of the School of Magic in Twinsen's adventure, results in "The role of the School of Magic in Twinsen's adventure".
To link to a specific section inside the article, just put a # sign and the section title. For example, "#Basic links" will result in "#Basic links".
External links
To automatically create an external link, you can click on the File:Button extlink.png button on the edit toolbar (see Help:Editing), and change the dummy text with your choice. To manually create a link, use the following method:
- Text to appear in article
This results in Text to appear in article.
If you only wish to give the URL, without any additional text, all you have to do is write in the address- http://www.example.com . You don't even need the square brackets sign.
Linking to the Magicball Network
For quick linking to the Magicball Network Forums, there are two easy to use templates: Thread and Post. Preferably, use those two when linking to the forum. If the address of the MBN ever changes, we can simply change the template, and all links will be changed accordingly.
