Kurtz is a franco living on the Village of the Francos, in a house where he made sure no sunlight can come in. His flowers are the proof of that.
According to the sign outside his house, Mr. Kurtz is a retired colonel. He currently works as a scientist. Like most of the francos, Mr. Kurtz is also in a treasure hunt after the lost fragment.
Mr. Kurtz has no vital role in the game. He tells Twinsen that he concoted a potion which should allow him to determine the location of the lost fragment, but he lost the vial.
