This template offers a multiple choice for defining the type category of a file page. It can also automatically categorize a page under that category.
Parameters
- The selected type from the following values (no parameter name and values are case insensitive):
- character portrait
- enemy portrait
- fan art
- holomap image
- icon
- ingame screenshot
- item image
- mbox icon
- misc game
- misc web
- movie screenshot
- package
- promotional
- savegame
- scene map
- theme icon
- user avatar
- any other (non)empty value defaults to: unknown
- nocat: Whether or not to suppress categorization under the chosen category (defaults to false, which means auto categorization).
Note: more category values may be added, provided the category pages in question are also created and organized into a logical category structure.
Syntax
{{Infobox File/type|value}}
Examples
Any of the above values may be used like this:
{{Infobox File/type|icon}} {{Infobox File/type|character portrait}} {{Infobox File/type|item image}} {{Infobox File/type|user avatar}}
The case of the value is not important:
{{Infobox File/type|uSER aVATar}}
- User Avatar [list all]
You may leave the "type" undefined (which would raise the Files of unknown type maintenance task) by not specifying any valid value, so these all have the same result:
{{Infobox File/type}} {{Infobox File/type|}} {{Infobox File/type|document}} {{Infobox File/type|word}} {{Infobox File/type|pdf}} {{Infobox File/type|monospaced}} {{Infobox File/type|arial}} {{Infobox File/type|savegame}}
- unknown [list all]
The nocat parameter may be used to suppress automatic categorization like this (any value will do):
{{Infobox File/type|icon|nocat=true}}
This would render the same result as the first example above, but would not automatically categorize under Category:Icons. This feature works both on valid values and the maintenance task mentioned above.
