Description
The itinary tokens are used for esmers shuttles. Without these tokens, the shuttles can't take off. These disc-shaped tokens have to be placed inside a device placed on any common Esmers shuttle in order to launch those.
Role in Twinsen's adventure
The first time Twinsen found the need of an Itinary Token was when leaving Zeelich for the first time. After escaping two Franco guards, he entered Otringal's Astroport, where he had to climb to the top of the tower. Once there, he had to defeat all technicians working at the tower, as well as a franco guard. After obtaining the desired token, Twinsen made his way back to a shuttle that stood at the port, and placed the travel token inside the device mentioned previously. Once doing that, he could safely make his way back to his home planet, landing at the Ridge of the Flowers Circle.
The second time a token was used by Twinsen was when heading for Emerald Moon. Twinsen had to steal a shuttle from the secret base the Esmers had built inside the Temple of Bù, and travel to the moon in order to free Baldino. To get himself a token, Twinsen had to defeat the Franco guard guarding the shuttle in order to get the key to the elevator nearby. Then he needed the protopack to fly over an electric bridge and defeat one more Franco guard to open a spheric safe which held the token. On his way back Twinsen encounters one more guard, which he can easily defeat by turning the electric bridge off and on again. Then he takes the elevator down and enters the shuttle to head for the moon.
The third time Twinsen needed such a token was when leaving Island CX and going back to Otringal. He obtained this token from a tower very similar to the Astroport at Otringal. Once doing that, the quetch had to make his way through the dangerous island, until reaching the Emsers shuttle that stood in the corner. He could then make his way back to Otringal, landing just next to the Emperor's Palace.
Unconfirmed theories
Twinsen obtained three Itinary Tokens during his second adventure. In both places, there was only one token. It is unknown where all other travelers got their token from, although it can be assumed that the Esmers provided them with these tokens.
